National Centre for Reading Education and Research (Reading Centre)

The Reading Centre is both a research centre within the University of Stavanger as well as a national resource centre working with preschools and schools throughout Norway.

The Reading Centre is responsible for the basic education in reading, writing and mathematics in the teacher education program at the University and are engaged in Master and Ph.D programs in special education and in reading literacy.

The centre are involved in national and international research projects dealing with reading development and reading disabilities, as well as education development projects.

As a National Centre for reading education the Reading Centrdevelop national reading and writing tests and instructional material for teachers and parents.
